He will be the 13th cricketer from India to play 100 or more Tests. Pujara has given a statement before his 100th test. He says that he does not think about how long he will play but only about one match at a time. The second Test match between India and Australia will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi from 17 February.

Talking to ESPNcricinfo, Cheteshwar Pujara said, I do not want to set any target for myself. I want to live in the present. Instead of thinking how long I can play, I think about one Test match at a time. Pujara further said, it is important to enjoy the game. Being on top of your game is important. When you are not able to contribute, or you are not performing to the best of your abilities, you may want to consider the next step. I have just turned 35. I still have some time. According to Pujara, my passion became my profession.
Did debut in 2010
Cheteshwar Pujara made his Test debut in October 2010 against Australia in Bangalore. Since then, Pujara has played 99 matches. During this he established many records. He has won many Tests for India on the basis of his batting. Pujara has scored 7021 runs in 169 innings of 99 Tests. He has 19 centuries and 34 half-centuries in his name in the biggest format of cricket. His highest score in Test cricket is 206 not out.

His family will be present at the Arun Jaitley Stadium to cheer Pujara during the 100th Test. During the conversation, Pujara said, yes this will be my 100th test. But you still have to work for the team and you pay little attention to that. We are playing an important series against Australia. According to Pujara, the second match will be my 100th Test, but after that there will be two more Tests which will be very important to win to qualify for the final of the World Test Championship.
